Seven London police officers were injured in a rain of bottles and cans when they tried to bring order
When London police tried to stop an illegal rave organized on the Havelock Close estate in the White City district in the west part of London, they encountered sharp resistance. The intervention police forces was targeted with bottles, cans, bricks and other objects. The ravers were encouraged by the fact that they were numerous compared to the police officers, who were thus driven several streets away.
In addition to the report of noise, the police also received a report that gangs from the western and southern part of the city would be physically charged at the party, which led to violence and riots at previous raves. Originally repulsed, police officers were reinforced by territorial defense forces as well as a helicopter, which allowed them to take more concrete action. Seven police officers were injured in the action.
